1. Roofing debris in your yard.
This is probably the most common sign of storm damage we hear about after a big storm rolls through. Many people will actually see shingles or other roofing material laying in their yard even when they can’t see which part of the roof they came from. 2. Shingles that are missing or have come loose.
If your shingles weren’t installed correctly or is old, a strong enough wind can peel it right off of the roof of your home or commercial building. This is a much more obvious sign of damage from the storm. However, if the shingles have just come loose and hasn’t fallen yet, it might be harder to notice. Take a walk around your home and do your best to inspect the roof. Look for any gaps or uneven portions of the shingles. If you see a piece that is coming loose that is in your reach, don’t pull on it! You don’t want to cause any further damage. 3. Leaks in your home, garage or building.
This one seems obvious, but sometimes you won’t notice any damage on the outside of your home but you will notice water dripping inside. Water can cause further damage the longer it’s left open to weather.
